Behind the Scenes 2019-from a top Toronto Corporate Headshot Event and Branding Photographer and Videographer
Ever wonder what it’s like to be on a photo set? One of my favourite things to post is shots of what a photoshoot looks like behind the scenes. You’ve all seen the results I can get at a shoot, but what does it look like to put in the work to set that up? In finished shots you won’t get a look at the crew, the faces we make, and the gear we use, but shots like these give you an idea what we get up to on the job. They say there’s only two things you should never watch being made, movies and sausages, but this isn’t either of them!
Who, me? This shot gives you a sense of what goes into getting you that perfect headshot. As you can see, I prefer a height advantage! Not to mention the elaborate equipment that goes into getting the lighting just right, because even with retouching, I need the shot I’m working with to be good in the first place. The laptop lets the whole crew check the quality of shots immediately, and of course a handy chair is a necessity for when it’s time to take a quick breather.
That one hair that gets in the way? Oh, we’ve got that covered. There’s more to a photoshoot than just the tech and equipment. There’s a human element, and part of it is making sure you look good. Depending on the shoot, I’ll have a stylist with me to make sure stray hairs and other small stuff doesn’t get in the way of a great shot. Though, as you can see in this pic, sometimes you can get a great shot even with someone in the way!
Sometimes you just know there’s something behind you. I like this shot for the silliness alone, but it shows you that doing a shoot isn’t like school picture day. It’s fun, fast, and everyone leaves happy because they get to choose their photos right away. Which means you can skip the ones with the bunny ears if for some reason that’s not quite what you were looking for.
I’m glad I got to share some fun behind-the-scenes photos with you and let you see the great times I have with my crew.
